Title: Teacher Assistant
Reports to: Center Manager

Purpose and Position:

The Teacher assistant is responsible for providing assistance to the Teacher in carrying out all assigned tasks for the management of the classroom. The Teacher assistant is responsible for assisting the Teacher during small group and/or individual activity implementation. This assistance is to be provided during both indoor and outdoor activity.In the absence of the Teacher, the Teacher assistant will manage the class with the help of a substitute teacher or volunteer.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1.Provide information to the Teacher regarding observed behavior of each child for documenting developmental needs and or progress.Assist the Teacher in developing the lesson plan by suggesting developmentally appropriate activities.Manage large group activities while the Teacher provides individualized instruction to a small group of children or individually, as needs or disabilities dictate.Rotate through learning center during child initiated activities to reinforce learning practices and skill development.Assist Teacher during formal assessments.Document daily attendance and report attendance to Family Services staff, noting children with four (4) consecutive absences.Provide assistance to the Teacher in extracting activities from curriculum guide to include as a part of the daily activities.

Skill and Knowledge Requirements:

Must be a team player and having a genuine care for working with children.

Education and Experiential Requirements:

High School diploma or equivalent, CDA credential, one (1) year experience working with pre-school age children.Must have valid Florida driver's license.

Title: Teacher

Purpose and Position:

The Teacher is responsible for managing the classroom. It is the responsibility of this staff person to develop, with the assistance of a teacher's aide, activities suited to the individual needs of children in the class. The teacher is responsible for the intellectual, social, emotionally and physical development of each child in the class.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1.Conduct on-going observations and recordings of each child to determine developmental need status. 2.Assess each child utilizing the Agency's assessment tool and use results to develop individual plans. 3.Develop lesson plans that conform to both the individual needs of the children, the Agency's curriculum guide and integrates other components. 4.Implement activities as outlined in the lesson plan, both indoor and outdoor. 5.Conduct home visits (minimum 2)and Parent/Teacher conference (minimum 2), on each child assigned, to inform parents of educational on-going activities, progress of child and individual developmental needs. 6.Conduct conferences with parents on a regular basis. 7.Provide opportunities and activities for children with disabling condition and participate in the Individual Education Plan (IEP)staffing. 8.Maintain arrangement of the classroom to ensure that learning centers, teaching aids and equipment is inviting to the children and stimulates their interest through supervised use. 9.Plan and implement enrichment activities for children to include field trips to reinforce learning units and to broaden the child's experience. 10.Maintain all required educational records as instructed by the Early Childhood Development Health/Disabilities Manager. 11.Encourage parent involvement.

Good communication, organized,good classroom management, and computers application skills are a plus

Title: WAP Coordinator
Reports to: Community Services Director

Purpose and Position:

This staff person is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the Weatherization program operations, including client application, home inspection and auditing, work plan development/coordination, and home repairs/improvements. Program is established and opened in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations. Program services are performed according to established technical specifications, cost effectiveness tests and applicable building codes.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Supervises and oversees the activities of employees within the Weatherization program. Overall responsibility for designing and implementing a program plan for weatherization services in accordance with federal, state and local regulations, established technical specifications, cost effectiveness tests and applicable building codes. Processes, reviews and approves client applications and maintains client prioritized waiting lists for the weatherization program. Reviews applications for compliance verification, completeness, qualifications, and accuracy. Functions include interaction with clients, on the telephone and in person. Develops, implements and monitors adherence of standard operating procedures that are supportive and in compliance with established policies and regulations. Develops, implements and monitors adherence of measurable goals and objectives o support and measure goals and objectives to support and assure program success and meet budget constraints/requirements. Provides departmental reports on activities, expenditures, compliance and analysis of measurable objectives of the program's achievement of goals to management on regular basis. Oversees, reviews and conducts home inspections and audits. Oversees, reviews and approves the development and implementation of work plans/work scopes that are used for repair/improvement projects. Work plans/work scopes specify repairs to be made, time frame for completion of work, materials needed and utilization of subcontractor assistance. Coordinates and oversees repair and improvement work being performed by subcontractors and staff. Develops and implements, with proper authorization, written agreements for services, as may be necessary for the operations of the program. Prepares, reviews and authorize financial documents, reports, purchase orders and documentation for payment of materials and services. Develops and maintains client files, records and documentation.

Skill and Knowledge Requirements:

Physical requirements: sitting, standing, use of fingers, arms, hands and legs and talking are constant. Good eyesight (correctable) and hearing (correctable) are essential. Squatting, walking, handling, grasping, driving, reaching, light lifting and carrying (up to 15 lbs.), pushing, pulling, turning, feeling, kneeling and balancing are frequent. Medium lifting and carrying (up to 30 lbs.), climbing and crawling are occasional.

Education and Experiential Requirements:

High School diploma and (or) a Bachelor's degree in business or public administration or related field from an accredited college or university. Years of experience may substitute for degree requirement.

Title: Health Specialist
Reports to: Early Childhood Development Manager
Salary Range: Contact HR Department

Purpose and Position:

This staff person shall function as an assistant to the Manager of the Early Childhood Education and Health Unit, having primary responsibilities for carrying out health tasks. This staff person shall be responsible for working directly with the staff in the center, to provide for the health needs of the children. It shall be the responsibility of this staff person to ensure that heights/weights, special dietary needs, immunizations and other medical needs of children are met. All medical requirements of children, as outlined in the Performance Standards shall be met through this staff person. Other activities of the coordination of this unit may be assisted by this staff person, as directed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Establish relationship with health department for supervised privileges for children's health care. Monitor children's records to maintain a tracking system for needed updated immunizations and physical. Schedule, with parental consent, all follow-up treatment health services and provide Family Service workers with schedules Visit centers to review records and/or note health needs of children, (sores, lice, etc.) for appropriate intervention. Meet with parents of children experiencing health needs, for professional consultation and preventive health care measures. Develop rapport with health providers to initiate on-going health care systems for families. Negotiate affordable family health care plans for families and encourage family participation. Meet with Unit Coordinator and staff to develop and implement health activities for children. Assist in the conduct of the developmental, sensory and behavioral screenings of all children. Assist in organizing the Health Advisory Committee ensuring that appropriate health officials are members. Schedule parent conferences and discuss developmental and health needs of their children. Monitor nutrition activities to ensure that meals prepared and served, meet requirements. Provide training and orientation to health/nutrition providers. Provide on-going information to staff regarding health concerns, health alerts and current preventive care measures. Secure referral and resource information for staff and parent use. Secure health aides that will be helpful for use in meeting health needs of children (hearing detector, vision screening). Coordinate with Family and Community Partnership staff in securing health partners for families. Conduct follow-up for all referrals made and ascertain service delivery expediency or problems. Conduct staff evaluations for submission and finalization to Coordinator. Enter health information on each child into the computer and retrieve needed reports. Assist with transition activities to ensure continuity of children services. Explain on-going health care needs to parents. Identify all returning children and determine health status and new follow-up service need dates. Arrange transportation needs and/or transport children to Providers for needed services. Assist in establishing and maintaining appropriate records of services provided.

Skill and Knowledge Requirements:

Ability to make reccommendations to doctors based on needs of children.

Education and Experiential Requirements:

Registered nurse with two (2) years experience and visiting nurse credentials or LPN, with advanced credentials that would provide for health service delivery (immunizations, hemoglobin/hematocrit, etc.). Valid Florida driver's license.
